Corwyn the Hunchback

I’ve had this model in my collection, unpainted, since the late 2000’s so he makes another fine contender for the Neglected But Not Forgotten challenge being run by Ann’s Immaterium. This is Corwyn the Hunchback, a twisted and evil shaman from Rackham’s Drune Kelt range. These cruel and bloodthirsty barbarians were roughly analogous to the Warriors of Chaos produced by Games Workshop, as well as borrowing heavily from the Drunes who appear as adversaries in 2000 AD’s Slaine comics. The range does show it’s age now, as miniatures have come on in leaps and bounds in recent decades, but at the time these were streets ahead of anything that another else was producing. Corwyn was one of the older models in the range as I recall but still jam packed with little details. He was well beyond my abilities when I first got him, and my attempts to paint him looked frankly terrible, but with more than a decade more experience under my belt the evil old bastard is finished at last.

I have a few more Drune Kelts kicking around, as well as a handful of other Rackham models, and my success with Corwyn has me feeling more enthusiastic about tackling them. First however I’ve got one more neglected model I reckon I can squeeze in before the end of the month.
