The Stupendous Swamptown Superstars – Part 1

Time for some more Blood Bowl players as I make a blatant attempt to pad out the number of models I’ve painted this month with lots of tiny Snotlings, using a mix of new plastics and a few of the old metal models I’ve had sitting about.

Blood Bowl Snotling Team Wudugast

I’ve always had a soft spot for Snotlings (oh all right, I have a soft spot for greenskins of all descriptions but I am particularly fond of the little snots). Needless to say I’ve got loads of them kicking around so expect to see this infestation grow and grow!

Lovely stuff mate – these wee scamps are a delight! I’ve always had a soft spot for Snots too, whether it’s being flung through the air while clinging to a football to score a hail mary, or taking out a Dreadnaught by being teleported inside the pilot’s guts, they really are the epitome of the plucky underdog ❤️❤️❤️

Cheers man, I had a lot of fun with them. The shokk attack gun is one of my favourite things from 40k, and I’ve loved both recent iterations of the model so it’s a bit of a travesty that I’ve never painted one. A job for Orktober is not before! I just love the thought of a space marine turning up, all po-faced and serious, ready to spread the grimdark in a staid, sensible and, above all, grown up sci-fi setting, only for an ork to ruin everything by firing an overenthusiastic ‘shroom addled little git through actual hell and into the inner workings of a dreadnaught. Plus when you think of all the things a species could do if they had access to teleportation technology and the Orks went for “use runty gits as ammo!”. You don’t see them doing that on Star Trek!

Really like what you have done with these lil fellas! excellent work!

What a fun bunch. Great work as always, Wudugast.

Fantastic- love the character in them.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

Very nicely done! 🙂 Quite a bit of good variation between the figures!

    • Wudugast

Thank you! That’s something I really like about them actually, every one of them is a little character, and the models may be tiny but they’re very expressive.

  • theimperfectmodeller

Very nicely done mate and I must ssy they really do look like fun figures to paint and collect. 🙂

    • Wudugast

Thanks mate! They really are loads of fun, each one is so full of exaggerated character. They’re simple little figures but that just means the silliness is undiluted! 🙂

I’m right there with you on the Snotlings and I think these turned out great as well. The sculpts have a lot of character and charm, just like they should! I do think you missed a trick though. I’d save these for your next great Ork painting competition with IRO. You could have buried him under an avalanche of painted Snotlings, I reckon 😉

    • Wudugast

Ah now that would be cheating. To quote Treebeard “these are not orcs!”. 😀 Still, IRO did let me paint Gretchin for Orktober last year and all’s fair when it comes to giving him a trashing so who knows what dastardly tricks I might turn to by the final week of October! I did meet a guy who build a 40k Apocalypse army made up of rebel grots, just for the look on his opponent’s face when he deployed it. Apparently the conversation usually went something like:
      “How much have your brought?”
      “Two thousand”.
“Two thousand points? That’s not very much for Apocalypse”.
“Oh no, I’ve brought two thousand models!”

Anyway, glad you like the little dudes (and glad to hear you’re a fellow snotling fan, we’re undoubtedly the most sophisticated kind of Warhammer enthusiast!).

Well you got a good chuckle from me Wudda!!

Speak, damn you!
