I’ve no idea where this model originates from, I found it in a box of old models I was sorting and thought it looked like an easy win. Any experts in old lead want to point me in the right direction?
To be honest it’s a bit… erm… rubbish. Maybe I just got a duff cast but the face(s) especially are pretty mushy and there’s a massive mouldline which runs unerringly through the few decent details there are. I did the best I could with it, although the latter proved impossible to completely remove. I reckon it’s passable from a distance, if you stand about 5 miles away it actually looks ok. Anyway I think I gave it more time and effort than it deserves but its done now so I’ll pack it away and think no more about it!

Haha it’s not rubbish at all. It’s weird and macabre which are two things I very much enjoy. Hmmm, it kinda reminds me of the dog alien in Aliens 3.

Cheers dude – it’s definitely weird and macabre I’ll give you that! It almost looks like something out of some crazy medieval woodcut or carving. I see the dog-alien vibe as well. 🙂

It’s a CP Models miniature:

I like it- was after that sculpt for my Zona Alfa collection.
Cheers,
Pete.

Aye, it would make a good mutant. I’m sure it’ll turn up in Necromunda/something underhive/Inq28ish for me.

Awww, he/she/they/it is/are cute!! I rather like this mate, and the paint job is superb

Cheers – maybe he/they* are a good boy after all!
*Hmmm… would a creature with multiple heads be referred to in the plural or not I wonder? Is the brain or the body the seat of individuality? I’ll be awake all night thinking about that now!

I wouldn’t want to get too close to that! 🙂 “Chilling” would be my description of it! I really like it!

It’s bloody weird isn’t it – looks like something out of a horror movie! I’m pleased it’s been so well liked though, I wasn’t too sure about it (although I must at some point have liked it enough to buy it). Actually, having seen everyone else’s positive feedback on it it’s growing on me again. 🙂

Haha, I agree with John that it is quite the creepy little thing! I can see what you mean about the sculpt being a little less than desired but I can’t see a mold line anywhere so you did a good job getting rid of that. The “dog” looks suitably sickly and grubby to me so I’d say that is a job well done on your part!

It’s damn sinister isn’t it? At first I thought about painting it grey/brown, more like a dog but the more I looked at it the more I thought going for a more “human” skin tone would just emphasise the horror. Glad I managed to kill that mould line at least, that was a battle for the ages I can tell you! 😅

This one’s a tad to weird for me as far as figures go but I think you’ve made a Silk purse out of a sow’s ear. 🙂
March 24th, 2022 at 6:11 pm
Thank you! I’m not sure I’d go so far as a silk purse myself but I’ve never knowingly turned down a compliment and I’m certainly not about to start now!

Not one for me mate, but you have tried your best !!
March 24th, 2022 at 7:02 pm
Aye, it’s not to everyone’s taste but on the plus side it didn’t take very long – and at the end of the day a painted miniature is always better than an unpainted one. 🙂

That’s the win in this case (and a lot of similarly bleh models)! Painted, done, onto the next one! 😀

Exactly. It’s good enough and it’s done so I’m happy. 🙂
