Time to revisit the Blood Bowl pitch as I keep chipping away at the Black Orc team I started in October. Last time we saw them I’d painted all 6 of the orcs which just left the goblins waiting for attention. Since then I’ve been working away at painting up the more nimble and diminutive side of the team and managed to complete first one…
…then another…
…and finally a third.
I also went for the easy win of getting these two markers painted up as well.
All in all the team is coming together nicely now so I’ll aim to finish it by that ever elusive date known only as “soon”.

Oooh, lovely Gobbos mate – you could do with a Troll to lob ‘em! 😁

Trolls? Never heard of ’em!
Glad you like the little gobbos, and yes, I really must get the finger out and work on that troll. I don’t know what it is about it that keeps making me stall. I’d like to finish the rest of the team before New Year, and if I can find a small box I’ll pop that on top of the troll so I don’t have to look at him and be reminded of my failures… 😉

They’re evil little gits aren’t they! I think the third one is my favourite too.

The gobbos look great! They’re such fun little sculpts and I really like how you painted them up too. I’m with other commenters that the third one is the meanest looking one of the lot! 🙂

Cheers! I really like that about Blood Bowl, it’s a chance for them to make some really fun models. I like a space marine with a serious look on his face as much as the next man but sometimes you just want to paint a silly looking goblin (which as it happens I’m doing right now…).

Oh I *do* like these a lot! I’m going to have to finish and start some Blood Bowl teams, aren’t I? Just had my set of DungeonBowl arrive this week as well….

Cheers! You certainly are mate, somehow I always had you in mind as a Blood Bowl fan but I just checked your blog and found only one Blood Bowl miniature (although to be fair it is a goblin with a chainsaw and you can’t get more iconically Blood Bowl than that!).

Yeah, I started with 2nd edition and have been in a good few leagues, but not nearly as many as I’d have liked to. I’ve got a pretty (overly) extensive Orc team that I need to finally finish and then put a lid on as I just kept adding models to it and relegating older models, as well as a Chaos Dwarf team that just needs the Hobgobs to be completed. I’ve also got a good number of others that remain unpainted and unplayed. One of the major issues in recent years is that the relative complexity and unforgiving nature of it probably won’t appeal to Marouda. That and the fact that I’d need to paint her team for her, the slacker!

I’ve got a similar issue myself actually. My partner is up for trying Blood Bowl but it’s not really her thing, for very similar reasons to Marouda. I’ve got a few other mates who I’d sum up as “ex-wargamers” – that is to say they used to be into the hobby and they still have an interest but they haven’t painted anything for years and they’re not likely to start. If I have them over and put down two painted armies/gangs/teams in front of them they’re more than up for a game but because they all live far away these days meeting up regularly to play a league isn’t going to happen. Meanwhile my local mates are either not into gaming or only into board games. Still, I’ll keep chipping away and when I am able to get some Blood Bowl played hopefully I’ll have plenty of models ready to go!
