Everybody needs a bit of encouragement from time to time – even Orcs who play Blood Bowl. If my green-skinned boys want to be taken seriously in the big leagues then they need the crowd on their side – and what could be better for encouraging the fans than a squad of cheerleaders?
I love the idea of these miniatures, they’re wonderfully silly and play up the tongue-in-cheek aspect of both Blood Bowl and Orcs to perfection. I’ve got two more on the painting desk so I’ll see if I can squeeze them in before the end of the month. Meanwhile my total number of Orcs painted in the first half of this month stands at 23, a very healthy number I reckon. I’m going to take a quick break to stretch my creative muscles on something else, then I’ll see how many greenskins I can get done in the next two weeks.

Absolutely horrific – she reminds my of one of the Mums in the estate where I grew up!

Haha – you know, I can definitely see that, there were a few of them around when I was a kid as well!

Haha she’s brilliant. At first I thought she had rollers in her hair hehe. 23?! God Damn! You’re almost 10 ahead haha

Really? You’ve got some catching up to do mate! Mind you, you’ve painted a tank, and a truly mighty warboss and you’ve fought a battle, if we were counting by “surface area of models painted” I reckon we’d be neck and neck. I’m sure you can turn this around though, I certainly won’t be resting on my laurels with you nipping at my heels. Mind you I am having a bit of a break from Orcs today, I need a bit of a change of pace to keep myself fresh, otherwise I’ll get distracted and before I know it you’ll have overtaken me again!

Hehe a race is a race but to be honest all I’m visualising now is you running in heels haha. Surely you’ll trip and I will just step over you… nah I’d help you up 😉

That is a great miniature- love it.
Reminds me of Grotbags.
Cheers,
Pete.

God, I’d forgotten about Grotbags! 😂 That takes me back!
She’s cool isn’t she, I’ll try to get the other 2 done soon. 🙂

Frightening’s the word! 🙂 Brilliant!
October 16th, 2021 at 10:11 pm
Cheers! Of all the orcs I’ve painted this month I reckon she’s the one I’d least like to fall out with!

Agreed!

These look great and a total to date of 23 is some going Wudu old chum.
A deserved break is a just reward I reckon. 🙂

Cheers mate! I’ll admit I’m surprised to have reached 23 myself, shows what a bit of healthy competition can do to encourage productivity! 🙂

Now that is a fun sculpt right there! Great job painting it up. I don’t play Blood Bowl but the idea of making a stadium populated with minis like that is a really cool sounding project to me 🙂

Cheers! I really like the idea of making, and populating, a Blood Bowl stadium. One of those projects that I’d like to get around to someday (mind you, I’d also like to populate a hive city with loads of crazy conversions for Imperial citizens – it’s going to take a while). Have you seen Louise Sugden’s* Blood Bowl stadium? Well worth looking up, it’s an absolute work of art.
*from Warhammer TV now, goes under the handles Sughammer or savage_orc_guy.

I took a look just now and that is pretty much perfect! Some of the MDF kit makers have stuff for stadiums to help make it a pretty easy project as well. I’d like to see that Hive City idea. Perhaps we’ll make up a challenge to motivate you to get it done quickly 😉

Haha – you know I’m a sucker for a challenge! Well, as it happens I’ve come up with another challenge (just for me) that I’ll be trying to complete in November, and then December is always all about trying to finish half-completed projects before the new year, but maybe it’ll happen in 2022. 🙂

Ooh, I can’t wait to see what it is 😀
