First Snag Your Beast…

A lot of the Orks I’m planning to tackle this Orktober are models that I’ve acquired over the years but never got around to painting up (bad me!). However there’s also quite a lot of new models that have only recently been added to the range and you know what – I’ve got a fair number of them too! Amongst the recent additions we have the Beast Snagga boys – primitive Orks who live for the thrill of the hunt. To old timers like me these are essentially Skarboys from the Snakebites clan. I couldn’t resist getting a few of them painted so here we have thump gun boy…

What’s more Games Workshop also recently released a set of new Ork Boyz, something I’ve previously discussed at length. Needless to say I’ve painted up one of them as well.

He’ll be the first recruit to my fifth squad of Ork boys, a squad to be lead by the notorious Gorzag Gitstompa. They’re even striking the same pose!

Are these all the greenskins I have to show you this week? Nah – of course they’re not!

    Bootiful mate 👍👍👍

Excellent mate. I’ve only just ordered myself some of the new Orks. What’s the the thing in front of the first chaps left foot? Is that something you’ve added?

    • Wudugast

Cheers bud! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the new Orks, I reckon they’re ripe for converting and kitbashing. The thing in front of his foot is something I used to add to my Ork bases quite a lot, although I’ve not done it so much recently. It’s just a bit of plasticard, cut and painted to look like scrap metal and then with an Ork symbol painted onto it (in this case I just stuck a transfer on and then weathered over it). Nothing fancy it but it makes it look like there’s wrecked Ork stuff lying around their feet, like their walking through their camp or across a battlefield.

Great work- really like them both.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

Nicely done mate. It’s looking like a one horse race right now but I reckon IRO might have a trick or to up his sleeve yet so stay on your toes!

Cheers muchly! Fear not, I won’t be resting on my laurels, our cheeky Australian brother is more than capable of overtaking me again. This just makes things interesting for him. 😉 It may look like a one horse race right now but everyone knows orcs eat horses!

I’m impressed how you switched from the brighter tribal orks to this dingy lot! These look great and even if I’m not a Greenskinz fan, I’m glad GW has given them some new kits finally. The old ones are classics but it was past time for some fresh blood, I reckon 🙂

Cheers! It was the old range that got me into Orks all those years ago and I’m still fond of those old models but you’re absolutely right, it was well past time for some fresh blood.

Something I’m very much enjoying at the moment is the range of different models I can paint, whilst still just painting Orks. There’s a real diversity to the various ranges that really helps keep them interesting.

Speak, damn you!
