You don’t often see female greenskins so when I found this goblin witch from Knightmare Miniatures lurking in the unpainted pile I knew I had to include in my Fembruary painting marathon.
The range of female miniatures available to me for this challenge has impressed me a great deal over the last few weeks. When I first participated in Fembruary back in 2018 I really didn’t have very many and it’s pleasing to see how much that’s changed in recent years. Partly of course that’s my doing – by a natural process of accumulation I now own more models than I did three years ago so I had more to pick from. However I’m also seeing an increase in the number of female miniatures on the market, and in an increasing diversity of roles. Where once I would have struggled to find much beyond sorceresses and the chainmail-bikini brigade now there are even goblin women. Long may it continue!

I do like these Goblin Women but hey aren’t new, Goblin Teasmades have been around for years! 😉 Seriously though I do agree with you, there does appear to be more female figures about.
I suspect it is partly because more figures are being sculpted and produced and partly because of things like Fembruary we are actively searching for them. I any event another nice figure and I like the detail of the sculpt.

Haha! 😀 I reckon you’re right on both counts there although as my backlog has demonstrated I didn’t need to go looking any further than my unfinished pile to find something for Fembruary (although to be honest I doubt there’s many challenges that I couldn’t find something for in the unfinished pile – the damn thing is big enough!). Glad you like the witch – she’s proof that now and again I still paint metal miniatures 🙂

Huzzah! She is brilliant mate, and yeah, loads more ‘believable’ female minis these days for sure. GW have sorted their act out in that regard, but also the smaller manufacturers & specialists like Bad Squiddo all help too. Onwards and upwards🤘

Cheers mate! I remember a few years ago GW saying that they knew people wanted more female miniatures and that they were working on it but that their lead times were so long that we shouldn’t expect them straight away. At the time I think I was a bit sceptical but it’s good to see their put their money where their mouth is. I really like the look of Bad Squiddo, somehow I’ve yet to get around to getting anything from them but I’ll aim to rectify that soon. 🙂

Love that- the nose is a work of art.
Cheers,
Pete.

Thank you – I do enjoy painting horrible noses on goblins! 😀

I think I went out with this lady on a date on time…. or then again maybe it was her sister. Since TIM didn’t make the joke, I felt like I had to 😀 In all seriousness, that is a good looking sculpt and I like how you’ve painted her up. A bit pretty good mix of dark and lighter colors I must say. Its nice to see you paint something non-GW as well. Not that there is anything wrong with painting GW! 🙂

Ha! I’m not saying TIM’s typecast or anything but I expected that comment from him too! Glad you were able to step in, the poor man must be overworked from painting that wizard’s tower!
Anyway, glad you like her. 🙂 Funnily enough I don’t think of myself as someone who mostly paints GW but there’s no denying that this is exactly what I am. That said I’ve got a few non-GW projects lined up that I’d like to tackle soon so hopefully there’ll be more of a mix of things in the coming months.

Great job on making the unreal very realistic!

Thank you! That is exactly what I was hoping to achieve here. 🙂

That’s awesome! Perfect addition for Fembruary! Love all the little details on that mini.

Thank you! She’s such a cool model, I couldn’t leave her out. 🙂
