A few days ago I asked my partner what I ought to paint next to add to our irregular games of Blackstone Fortress, a game we’re likely to break out more often now the winter nights are drawing in and Covid-induced lockdown is once again wrapping its loving arms around the nation. The answer, emphatically, was the rogue trader Nayam Shai Murad, so here we have her – ready to join the slowly growing collection of heroes we can choose for our games.
I’ve got a bit of a buzz for painting Blackstone Fortress at the moment so I’ve put the servitor X-101 onto the desk, he looks fairly straightforward so I’ll try to get him finished up shortly.

ooh that does look nice and rather different too. Like the colour scheme as well, very nice. Looks like a merging of genre’s to me with a fantasy and steampunk vibe to it. Works too.

Cheers! I really like the look of these rogue trader miniatures, as you say they have a steampunk/fantasy element to them which really makes them stand out in the 40k range. I keep hoping they do more with them, they’ve only done three so far – of which one was good and the other two were excellent – but I’d love to see a proper range of them someday.

Particularly like the cloak.

Thank you – was really pleased with how that turned out. 🙂

Very well done! She looks classy and dangerous. Excellent use of that colour scheme 😉

Thank you! Yup, classy and dangerous – but then again all the best women are 😉

She looks very cool there. That rear servo-skull gives a look to her profile that’s a little reminiscent of a scorpion as well!

She does doesn’t she? I knew there was something like that going on but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until you pointed it out.

That is very nice.
Cheers,
Pete.

Thank you! 🙂

Wow man. Love the looks of this one. A bit brighter than your usual work, but it also seems to fit in nicely with your other minis too! The cloak is ace. One small thing, I’d probably have painted the handle of the gun a different color to break it up more. Though could very well be an all in one piece too. As always, looking forward to seeing what’s next!

Thank you! 😀 Yeah, I reckoned it was worth playing up the colours a bit, after all she’s rich so she ought to flaunt it a bit! Good point on the gun, I’ll take a look at her in the hand and have a think – it’ll only be a two minute job to change it after all.

She looks great and I really like the red wiring on the back. It really draws the eye to her mechanical enhancements. The Servo skulls look really nice too, I must say 🙂 Blackstone Fortress has some great looking sculpts so keep them coming!

Thank you! There are some incredible models in the Blackstone Fortress sets aren’t there, and I’ve still got plenty of them to paint so fear not, there’s more on the way 🙂

Lovely paint job mate, and such a cool mini – almost makes me want to chop off one of my legs! 🤣

Cheers dude! I know right, if only amputees could get a sword on the NHS 😀
