Alright 2020, let’s get this party started!
Scream for me Cicatrix Maledictum! I got this amazingly bombastic Noise Marine as a Christmas present to myself back in 2018, got him 90% painted straight away and then ground to a halt, after which he just sat there gathering dust as the months passed. I wasn’t going to let another year pass without getting him finished. He was an absolute joy to paint, I don’t let myself play with gaudy outrageous colour schemes nearly often enough! Insert your best gurning and air-guitar here!

Awesome. What a great figure to kick off the New Year with. I can see why he would have been fun to paint.

Cheers – he was an absolute hoot to paint, quite different in a lot of ways to my normal stuff and impossible to take entirely seriously. I’m not even sure if it’s actually possible to paint him in my usual dark, gritty and sombre style – if it is it’s a challenge too far for me 😀

Nice job. If anyone deserves an electric guitar in 40K it is certainly noise marines! 🙂

Cheers! Too damn right (well, them and the Goff Rockers of course). Actually, that would be another cool model/s to see given one of these Christmas releases, ala the Noise Marine and the Red Gobbo.

Excellent model and such a throwback to the days when GW signed their own metal band.

Thank you! Yeah, those were the days. Actually, I think I need to go and listen to some Bolt Thrower now you’ve brought them to mind – they could so easily have been something of a novelty act but instead they were a genuinely excellent band in their own right.

Rock On! Your choice of what is a restrained colour palette for Slaanesh really makes this dude pop.
January 7th, 2020 at 7:16 am
Cheers! I wanted something that balanced the outrageousness of Slaanesh with the colours of my own Chaos army, a foot in both camps as it were. It’s given me a few ideas for painting other Noise Marines – now I just need to wait for GW to get around to making them!

It will be nice when GW gets the band back together!

Awww wow. I’m not a fan of noise marines but I’m a fan of THIS!! Fantastic colours

Cheers dude! It always means a lot when someone who isn’t a fan of a particular model or aesthetic likes something that they wouldn’t otherwise – means I’ve not just pulled it off, I’ve managed it with a handicap! Of course, you’re completely wrong – Noise Marines are awesome – but there’s no accounting for taste… 😉

Well said sir hehe

Nice work mate. I finally picked this up myself recently. No idea what to do with him for the time being, but that’s never been the most important thing – great to see yours looking so good!
January 7th, 2020 at 7:33 am
Aye, exactly – the most important thing is adding him to the pile and then sitting on top of it like Smaug 😀 Glad you like him mate!

Yusss!!!! Very well done mate – understated compared to the ‘official’ scheme, but I definitely prefer your interpretation. Bravo!

Cheers dude! Yeah, the studio version was very much a homage to the original, which is great in and of itself, but it’s actually a really nice model in its own right and it’s fun to try some different styles and interpretations – there’s a lot more to it than just saying “look how crazy things were back in them Oldhammer days”.
