Got time for a couple more Poxwalkers? Yeah you do! Inspired by fixing up my Nurgle Daemon Prince I turned my attention back to the queue of unpainted plague zombies still hungering for attention. I had planned to get them all done by the end of the year but I honestly don’t see that happening now, even with the best will in the world, but I’ll aim to rattle through them in the first few months of 2020 instead. However I continue to chip away at the remainder, starting with this horrible pair.
Here they are together, rotten brother’s in arms.
Alongside them I found myself inspired to tackle a few other Nurgle gribblies, the kind of little beasts and mutant, part-daemon creatures that one expects to find scuttling alongside the Plague God’s hordes. First of all we have this Nurgling (because you can never have too many of those).
Next up we have a giant fly, originating from the Kill Team: Rogue Trader boxset released last year.
Lastly, springing forth from the same set, we have this Glitchling, a bio-mechanical equivalent to the Nurglings.
Add them all together and we have three more Nurgley-beasties to scamper at the heels of my Death Guard.
Indeed I’m starting to collect quite a few little gribblies to accompany my Nurgle collection.
As noted above I’ll probably be concentrating what painting time is left before the end of the year on other projects but I’ll be aiming to get back to Poxwalkers early in 2020 (not to mention various other members of Mortarion’s legion). Expect plenty more foulness in the new year!

I just love it when you put one of your magic Poxwalkers up, I never fail to have a chuckle ! I must say I really like the giant fly, now that’s new and handsome !

Cheers! For me a Chaos army should be a menagerie, everything they come into contact with should be corrupted. The more warped beasties are scampering at their heels, the more twisted the landscape through which they pass becomes, the more it looks right to me 😀

The first one seems to be having some difficulty eating its respirator. The second is really cute with the Blightking helmet, tho!

No wonder the poor lad is struggling to eat that respirator – he used to be part of the Gnasher-Screamer’s arm. He was expecting to find an oesophagus and instead his throat is nothing but tricep!
That second one thinks he looks really stylish doesn’t he 😀

Thank you! The poxwalkers are great fun to paint and kitbash a bit, I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into the rest of them as soon as I’ve cleared a couple of other projects off the desk. 🙂

No harm in them taking a bit of extra time – it makes sense after all with you converting each one rather than just slathering them in contrast paint and calling it done!
The little RT guys look great as well. I may have to sneak them into the queue myself. Once I cut down on the existing queue a little, anyway…

Couldn’t agree more, I always find that a model that takes longer to paint will be finished eventually whereas one that I’ve “finished” but I’m not happy with will annoy me forever. That said I really must get back and complete this project, the finish line is within touching distance (although there is something that feels slightly wrong about painting Nurgle models during a pandemic…)

Yeah I get you there. Have you considered playing Pandemic the board game (or one of the variants?) I need to do that this week. Good game(s) in their own right, and who doesn’t want to have the black humour value of having played Pandemic at this point in history?

Haha, good shout, I have played Pandemic and it would be great to play it just now, very much a game of the moment. I only ever played a friend’s copy though and I can’t go and hang out with them right now for obvious reasons. Definitely one to break out if you have a copy though.
