Scum! – Part 4

Just a very quick post today as I try to get caught up after a hectic few weeks. Another addition to my Necromunda collection, here’s a down-and-out hive scummer looking for a suitably desperate gang to hire him.

I went into painting him with the intention of doing so as quickly as possible, whilst still producing a model that I was pleased with and I have to say I like the results. Then again as he’s just a degenerate scumbo he doesn’t need to look too classy!

Disgusting, but in a good way.

I think he’s brilliant mate! Grizzled, plagued, haunted. I love it when a simple head-swap just clicks this perfectly, and your paint job is spot on – those skin tones are fab!

    • Wudugast

Cheers mate! Yeah, it was one of those conversions that just clicked instantly, very much a case of going “Ok I’ll start with a headswap and… oh, he’s perfect now, I’ll leave it at that then!”

Fantastic underhive scum! I love the 5 o’clock shadow. He means business. Simple and perfect.

    • Wudugast

Cheers! Yeah, I’m pleased with the stubble, just used a bit of grey paint thinned right down until it was almost a wash. Unfortunately didn’t think to write down which one I’d used (schoolboy error if ever there was one) – think it was Dark Reaper though.

Mate Mr Warty looks classy to me ,nice paint job for a quick one!

  • Thomas

Excellent conversion. Spot on in every way, and a very suitable paint job.

Really like that figure- great work, especially onthe skin tones.

    • Wudugast

Cheers! Was a lot of fun working on the skin tones, I wanted something that looked greasy and unhealthy, but not actually Nurgly as, at least in part, the paint needed to do some of the work in making him look like something other than a poxwalker.

  • Azazel

Yep – great work on this one and he looks suitably disgusting and grizzled at once!

    • Wudugast

Thank you! I wanted him looking down and out, but naturally so if that makes sense – his appearance should be a result of him drinking, fighting, never washing and living in a sump, but not the result of Nurgle, or any other unnatural or occult influence. 🙂

He looks scummy as hell- that bumpy flesh is brilliant and foul. Is it bad that I can even get an idea of what this ganger would smell like, in my mind’s nose? 😂

    • Wudugast

If you can imagine the smell of him in your mind’s nose then yes, that’s undoubtedly bad (for you at least!). No, honestly it’s a big compliment – I had a real idea of how he would smell, and specifically that he would be a smelly individual, that you wouldn’t want to be downwind of him, and if that’s something you took from looking at him then I’ve done my part well 😀 Just don’t imagine it too much!

  • Alexis West

Yep, that’s scum alright. The kind that takes some serious scraping (or possibly fire) to get cleaned up 😉 Great use of a Poxwalker there. I’ll have to take a look at them again, see which I can do something not quite as dead with.

    • Wudugast

Yeah, a quick shower isn’t going to be enough for him – not even close!

Whilst some of the poxwalkers are definitely very Nurgly and undead some of them work well as scruffy grubby humans with a few careful snips to remove the spikes and tentacles. Of course, now I’ve realised that I’m one model short of the forty poxwalkers I was planning to get built… Oops!

      • Alexis West

Yeah, not all of them will work, but there are a few I’m sure I can do something with.

And that can be a problem. Fortunately for me, I have some weird number of them, 34 or something, so I can play around a bit with them without messing up my numbers 🙂

Nice base and good choice of head. A quick job but a top notch job sonny Jim 👍🏼

    • Wudugast

Cheers man! He’s got such an expressively mean face doesn’t he. Glad you like the base as well, I was pleased with the way that turned out, it looks almost as grubby as he does!

Speak, damn you!
