I think it goes without saying that I’m hugely, childishly overexcited by all the new Night-Clan Moon-Gits or whatever it is that GW are calling Night Gobbos this week (I know it’s Gloomspite Gits but I was only just getting used to calling them Moonclan). My fungus-addled brain has already gone into overdrive coming up with uses for the new models so expect to see them popping up here over the coming months in various guises. Naturally however this enthusiasm can’t be kept entirely bottled up so I’ve channelled it into getting this spiteful little chap painted.
I got him a while back as part of one of the Greenskin Wars kickstarters and he may actually be my favourite Night Goblin of all time. Plus, inspired by all the new models, I hammered through painting him in no time flat.
I have been chipping away at other models over Christmas and New Year so expect to see a few more appearing soon(ish), once I’ve got the finishing touches on them, starting with a round-up of my current Necromunda projects later in the week.

These look interesting. Looking forward to seeing more in due course, great stuff.

Thank you! There’s plenty more where he came from 🙂

Excellent, never doubted it!🤗

Nice chap! I must say that GW really got me this time: the new squig releases are simply something I cannot miss… 🙂
January 7th, 2019 at 7:32 pm
I know, all those squigs are just gorgeous! I can’t believe it’s taken them this long to get around to them honestly. I’m really taken with the new trolls as well. Somehow they’ve managed to give it all a really fresh, AoS vibe, whilst still producing a bunch of models which will fit in perfectly with an old-warhammer army.

Yes, yes and yes. Completely agree. I don’t think there looks to be a bad release in this batch and it will ruin my not spend too much on minis this year (lol as if). My only concern is a few of the squigs look as if they only just fit on 25mm rounds let alone 20mm squares but it just means I’ll use those as mini unit fillers.
I love your goblin. He just looks up to no good (as all good gobbos should). Just the right hint of mischievous and malice.

This chap is brilliant, and what awesome timing for you mate! I can’t wait to see what you do with the new releases 🙂
January 7th, 2019 at 7:37 pm
Thanks mate! I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into them 🙂

Looks great! As with the shields on the earlier bunch, the bit of blue and red as spot colours will really help keep this little guy from being lost in the crowd.
I don’t have any real interest in getting Gobbos myself, for the most part*, but the new releases are absolutely fantastic, and I look forward to seeing more examples of them painted up and conversions made from them as time goes on.
*The Gobbapalooza is pretty tempting, even to me.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s something I’m finding really fun, getting to break out all the brightly coloured paints that I otherwise hardly ever get to use with my usual toned down style.
The Gobbapalooza are so cool aren’t they? I really like how expressive their faces are 🙂 Love the one that’s trying to be scary by dressing up as the sun (because what’s more frightening to a goblin than the sun right?)

Lovely paintjob! Oddly, I caught myself looking at the new Night Goblin (sorry, I’m an old man and don’t change habits easily) stuff the other day………..and then dimly remembered that I had a full Night Goblin force back in the mid 90s at one point. Who knows, perhaps I may get a warband together…..

Have to say the designers really deserve top marks here for exactly that reason. They’ve captured that vibe of the old Night Gobbos perfectly. There’s really very little here that wouldn’t have fitted it perfectly to a ’90s Night Goblins army. I have nostalgic memories of seeing a friend’s army from roughly that time and it was that kind of vibe I was hoping to capture with my own collection. When I heard there was going to be a goblin release I hoped there might be something in it that would tie in with my army, but I never expected so much of it to be useful 🙂

He looks like a little bastard. I’m glad you’re pumped for the new goblin gear from GW. In all honesty Goblins don’t do too much for me but your excitement is kind of contagious I’ve found hehe. I look forward to seeing more brother

Ah, cheers man. He’s a nasty, spiteful git isn’t he? You know, I always expect you to be a goblin man, you have that boisterous, “stuff the rules, I’m here to enjoy myself” take on the hobby that I generally associate fans of the gobbos. Then I remember that the third part of your name is “Ork” so it’s only natural that you disapprove of the weedy little gitz! 😀

Haha good points

Yea, if I had pictured you playing any team in Blood Bowl…it would have to be Goblins. They are the most random assed team there is. People play them just to have fun and cause utter chaos.
January 12th, 2019 at 4:10 am
Haha definitely my team!
January 12th, 2019 at 7:15 pm
The first game I against them, it turned my brain inside out. Thought it was going to be an easy win with their really weak linemen. Nope, injured some of my best players. The Goblins didn’t win, but it sure made my next match super challenging.
January 12th, 2019 at 11:48 pm
Haha sounds fun

The new Gloomspite Gitz are simply amazing. Hands down, some of the best minis GW ever made. They are hilarious and iconic. Jaw dropping. The Loonking is the mad hatter you didn’t know you always wanted. So much character packed into that model.
Not to mention the Gobbapalooza, the quintet of demented mushroom druggies. Ball eyes and all. I’m considering picking them up just for painting.
January 9th, 2019 at 6:30 pm
My thoughts exactly. I keep planning different things for them (which ones I can tuck into my Night Goblin army, whether I should make a trog-herd, etc etc) but ultimately it’s all beside the point – I really just want to paint those little dudes! 😀
January 11th, 2019 at 8:35 pm
Love that guy, looks pretty damned crazy! Nice work!
January 12th, 2019 at 5:56 pm
Cheers mate! He looks like a right git doesn’t he?
