In the dark depths of the Underhive the xenos invaders gather their strength…
Over the weekend I managed to find some time to crack on with my genestealer cultists gang. With three more neophytes done my goal of getting the gang ready for action by Christmas is starting to look more achievable. To be honest there’s not a whole lot more to say about these beyond reiterating what so many other hobbyists have said previously; that these are amongst the finest models Games Workshop have produced and tie-in brilliantly with the Necromunda setting. Anyway, without further ado allow me to introduce Neophyte Zhu…
… plus their clanmate Neophyte Xixos…
…and lastly the sinister Neophyte Castus…
Next up, a neophyte with a grenade launcher to bring some added punch to the gang, plus the early generation monster with a rock saw which I showed a WIP of previously, then I’ll need to crack on with the cult’s magos and his familiar.

As you point out, there’s not a whole lot left to say here. They’re Stealer Culties, they’re awesome, excelsior!

Precisely 🙂 Glad you like them!

I really like the work you’ve done on this gang, excellent mate. Looking forward to the next instalment?

Cheers mate – yes, very much so, they’re really nice models to work on.

Nice! Great progress on this team, man! All look great, but if had to pick just one, I’d take Castus.
I think I must have subconsciously lifted your idea (and/or someone else’s) idea for different colored LED lights. Originally I had painted the buttons on one of the Van Saar’s gizmos as silvery metal. Looked pretty bland. Then I ended up painting the buttons in different colors “RGB” (Red Green Blue). So, if I did get it from you, I owe ya!

Thanks! There’s something rather sinister about old Castus isn’t there? It’s not easy to see in the photos but I’m particularly pleased with the soft purple tinge to the flesh behind his ear.
Yeah, I’ve been doing LED lights that way since I started painting – although I undoubtedly nicked the idea off someone else. It just adds a bit of visual interest and saves me from having to think too hard!

Look to the sky, brothers, and our saviour from beyond the stars.
Great work on the Cult!

” Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see…”
Glad you like them mate 🙂

See, kids. This is what happens when you gaze into the Abyss too long…. it gazes back. 😉 Looking great! Sufficiently gritty, yet still a sharp paint scheme. Bravo.

I told them and told them, I said “Guy’s seriously, stop gazing into the abyss, it’ll gaze back and then you’ll be stuck that way”. Did they listen? Did they hell!
Thanks very much, it’s proving to be a lot of fun working on these and combining the relatively bright colour-scheme with plenty of filth whilst still keeping everything looking sharp – glad you approve!

Brilliant mate – ’nuff said

Nice work. These Cultists have long whispered to me to buy them, and with the rather pretty dirt bikers being previewed, I must admit that I’m a bit closer to jumping in. Your painting is an inspiration as always; the colour scheme really fits the aesthetic well.

They’re ace models aren’t they? I’ve had a fancy to them since they first appeared and then I treated myself to the battalion box they released last Christmas. The bikes are very tempting aren’t they? Thanks very much for the kind words regarding the paintwork, I’ve been really enjoying these.
